Cassidy-Davies Electrical

Cassidy-Davies Electrical was founded by two Kiwi mates – Tim from Christchurch and Dylan from Auckland.  After decades working on high profile projects together they decided to put their expertise to the best possible use and start their own Christchurch electrical services business.

We have 25 years combined experience in providing both commercial and residential services and all our electricians are fully qualified, highly experienced, and hand-picked by us. We service the wider Christchurch area, our home, and we plan on sticking around for the long haul.

Dylan Cassidy
Dylan Cassidy

Director

Dylan began his electrical career in 2003 in Auckland. Never being one to shy away from a challenge he took an opportunity in 2010 to move south to be involved in the Christchurch Airport project & further develop his commercial construction skills.

This is where he first met his mate & soon to be business partner Tim.

After working together on numerous large scale projects they put their heads together & Cassidy-Davies Electrical was born.

They set about building the foundations of the business around core values of pride, commitment & honesty with a focus on customer satisfaction & delivering a high standard electrical product.

Dylan has always been passionate about sport, in his spare time you’ll find him on the golf course or pondering when it will actually be the year of the Warrior.

Tim Davies

Director

Tim began his journey in the electrical industry in 2006. Born & raised in Christchurch, initially controls & automation were his fields of expertise. Being a proud local man he jumped at the opportunity to work on the Christchurch Airport project & be a part of a key cornerstone development for his home city.

Following on from that he spent a couple of years overseas exploring the world & honing his electrical skills before returning home to form a business with his mate Dylan.

He now enjoys being able to provide high quality electrical services to his hometown & takes pride in training/developing local apprentices into high quality tradesman. When Tim is not at work, you’ll find him out on a sports field coaching kids rugby, cheering on the Crusaders, running around with his beloved dog Charlie, or spending time with his family.

Ben

Commercial Manager

Coming from a background in advertising & abseiling, I could never have imagined an electrical career was on the cards for me. Meeting Dylan & Tim flipped my ideals on their head.

After taking up an offer from Dylan to relocate from Auckland to Christchurch in 2010, I’ve never looked back.

The training, knowledge & support I’ve gained from being involved with Cassidy-Davies has not only benefitted me in a work capacity, but has driven me to inspire future electrical legends. With the variety of work & the future looking bright, I’m full of exuberance for what comes next for Cassidy-Davies.

Nick

Estimator

Hi, I’m Nick. I have been in the electrical industry for the past 5 years with a recent move to estimating, I joined the Cassidy-Davies Electrical team in February 2022.

Born and bred in Christchurch it’s great to be able to work for a local company.

I look forward to tackling the challenging opportunities ahead and working with a supportive, passionate team.

In my spare time you will find me completing house renovations, playing competitive table tennis, fishing, getting together with friends and watching rugby.

Andrew

Electrician

Hi, I’m Andrew and have spent my last 4 years in the electrical industry. I have always been looking for opportunities to improve my skills in the trade as well as in life.

I moved across the world to New Zealand from Zimbabwe at a young age with my parents who wanted a bright future for me. No brighter opportunity has come my way than the one provided by the team at Cassidy-Davies Electrical.

Finding a team that prides themselves in their workmanship, commitment, honesty and most importantly safety has ticked all of the boxes for me and hopefully this will for you as well.

In my downtime I enjoy keeping busy, whether this is traveling to new places, spending time with family and friends or looking for my next adventure.

Kyle

Electrician

Hi I’m Kyle, I started off in the service industry which gave me a taste of the electrical trade which I jumped into in 2016 and haven’t looked back.

I’m from Christchurch and now live here with my wife and two pre-school aged daughters. In my (limited!) spare time I like to go mountain biking in the port hills.

Tim and Dylan have created a great business with a positive and safety conscious work culture. Working for Cassidy-Davies has provided me with the challenges and support needed to push myself and continue to build on my skill set and move forward in the industry.

Jordan

Hi, I’m Jordan and I have been in the electrical industry for 5 years, joining the trade straight out of high school. As of recently, my partner and I have moved from Auckland to Christchurch in search of a fresh start, new adventures, and a place to call home.

I’ve had the great opportunity of joining Cassidy-Davies, whose core fundamentals are built upon pride, commitment, workmanship and safety. This has provided me with a working environment where I can further develop my craft.

Besides my passion for work, in my downtime I enjoy working on my car and adding to my shoe collection.

Dan

Apprentice Electrician

Hi, I’m Dan and I’m fresh into the Electrical Industry as an apprentice with Cassidy- Davies Electrical.

My working career has been quite varied to say the least: out of school I went into the fitting, turning and tool-making industry. Following the 2011 Christchurch earthquake, the workshop shut down and I moved to the construction sector, completing EQC repairs to high end architectural builds. In 2018 my career took an unexpected turn as I went full throttle into the Turbocharger industry.

However, my goal was to gain recognition as a qualified tradie, this is where I soon found myself sitting at a table with Dylan and Tim, talking about their values and company environment, thinking this is who I am. A week later I was standing with the rest of the team for the Monday meeting, ready to get stuck in and haven’t looked back from the decision since – eager to tackle the challenges that are ahead.

Outside work you’ll find me spending quality time with family, outdoor adventures, odd gaming session with my daughter, completing house renos and tinkering with my car project

Abbe

Apprentice

Hi I’m Abbe, I began my career in the electrical industry at the start of 2022. I soon started after completing my pre trade and doing some work experience for Cassidy-Davies over the summer.

I wanted a hands on career that continually challenged me and offered opportunities to improve on my skills. Working alongside the boys at Cassidy-Davies has given me just that; with the wide variety of work and knowledge they offer, I’m enjoying every moment of it.

When I’m not working I’ll be doing weekend roadies with my mates or staying fit, whether it be snowboarding or going on hikes.

Excited to see what the future has installed with the CDE team.

Holly

Office Manager

Hi, I’m Holly. I studied at the University of Canterbury and have worked in finance and admin for the last ten years, joining Cassidy-Davies in March 2021.

I feel really lucky to have landed the role – Tim and Dylan are great bosses who have created a fantastic culture here. The whole team are hardworking, kind and supportive. It’s a busy office and no two days are the same, which is exactly what I enjoy most about it.

In my downtime you’ll find me with my two year old Grace, and helping my husband with our never ending home renovation.
